About Pedicabs
Pedicabs are the best way to see everything. You go at your own pace, with a permanent 360 degree view and your personal tour guide. Pedicabs can get in close to venues that buses simply can’t. Safe, convenient and comfortable – pedicabs are the best way to see the National Mall, the museums and the memorials.
Yes. We are licensed by the National Park Service. To obtain this license, we must prove $1,000,000 worth of insurance.
Yes. It is easier to get in and out of the pedicab than in and out of a car. The pedicab comes equipped with a step and a handrail. We can get right up to the curb to make for a shorter step. We frequently accommodate a fold-up wheelchair along with two passengers. Wheelchairs are also frequently available at the visitor centers at each of the large monuments.
You can always call or text 703 231 9882 for a ride or a tour. If I am available, I will come to pick you up immediately. If I am not available, I can often dispatch another pedicab tour guide to go and pick you up. For tours, you can reserve in advance, either on this website or by telephone.
Yes. Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Discover. I carry a hand-held device called the Square which I use to swipe your credit card. For a tour booking, I may require a $15 deposit. If done over the phone, this may require you to give me your credit card information so I can enter it manually. Otherwise, you can make this deposit via Paypal. I personally also accept electronic payments such as Apple Pay, Venmo, Paypal, and Zelle. Every one of our tour guides will accept credit cards, but not all will accept every form of electronic payment as well.
A twilight tour of the monuments is a highlight of many people’s trip to Washington. Unlike the bus and Segway night tours, a pedicab tour can include a stop at every monument. And take you to your favorite restaurant afterwards.
Yes. We do this all the time. You fold the stroller and lay it by your feet.
Yes. I leave the canopy open on the sides for better viewing. In case of rain, the sides come down and I have a plastic rain cover that can keep you entirely dry with a good clear view.
Roomy for 2 adults along with one or two small children. Two large adults or 3 thin adults can ride comfortably. Three medium sized adults fit snugly — a slight loss of comfort depending on the size of the adults. Three large adults probably should take two pedicabs. Four adults always need to take two pedicabs. We commonly take two adults with two children plus a stroller.
Please call/text me at 703 231 9882 and let me know. If you are unable to contact me (i.e. riding the Metro), I will wait 15-30 minutes for you before I leave. In general, you must pay me starting from the agreed upon meeting time unless you have let me know in advance.
This has never happened yet. However, I cannot always control for the traffic or road closures. I will call/text you to let you know.
Recently, we have not been requiring a deposit. But we do reserve the right to do so. In that case, with 24 hours in advance, your deposit will be fully refunded. Up to 2 hours in advance, you can change your reservation to another available time slot. If it is actually raining at the time of your reservation, you can reschedule or receive a full refund.
I have personally conducted pedicab tours for more than 20 years now. I have never been involved in an accident. None of my passengers have ever been injured. No accidents, no injuries, no robberies, and virtually 100% customer satisfaction.
Everywhere. All the Monuments and Memorials, Downtown Washington, The National Mall (including museums and monuments), Embassy Row, Georgetown, DuPont Circle, Chinatown, Union Station, hotels and restaurants throughout the city.
