The Lincoln Memorial is open 24 hours a day to the public, 365 days a year.  In this sense, the Lincoln Memorial opening hours are the same as at those of every other memorial.

The Lincoln Memorial is always free to the visiting public.

There are restroom facilities to the left of the wide staircase.

Food Availability at the Lincoln Memorial

There are two food kiosks at the Lincoln Memorial.  One is to the left on Daniel French Drive.  The other is to the right on Henry Bacon Drive.  The nearest restaurants are several blocks up 23rd Street.  On I Street between 23rd and 22nd there are several restaurants.

Handicapped Facilities at the Lincoln Memorial

On Daniel French Drive, there are several parking spaces for vehicles with handicapped plates or windshield cards.  To the left of the staircase, there is an elevator that goes up to the inner chamber.  On Daniel French Drive, there is a National Park Service information kiosk that provides free use of wheelchairs on a first come first serve basis.

National Park Service Rangers Walking Tours

Rangers are on duty to answer questions from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. daily and to provide interpretive programs every hour on the hour from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Tours to the Lincoln Memorial

One of the best ways to see the Lincoln Memorial is to visit it as part of a tour of the monuments.  Nonpartisan Pedicab offers tours that take approximately 2-3 hours.  Many guests say that this is the highlight of their trip to Washington DC.

Parking at the Lincoln Memorial

Unless you have handicapped stickers, you are out of luck.  There is metered on street parking on Ohio Drive SW near the Potomac River.  During non rush hours, there is metered on-street parking on Constitution Avenue.  During rush hours, you will be ticketed for parking on Constitution Avenue.

On-street parking on the National Mall is no longer free of charge.  Three hour parking is available at $2 per hour.  Parking meters only accept credit cards.
